Number the final document after arranging its pages
Page numbers make a report easier to reference in an email, meeting or printed copy. Add them after merging documents and fixing the layout so the visible numbering follows the version you plan to share. Existing printed numbers remain on the page; this tool adds a new number rather than replacing old text.
Choose top or bottom placement and left, center or right alignment. Set the starting number and optionally skip the original first page as a cover. For example, starting at 1 with the cover skipped puts 1 on original page 2. If you select a range, the sequence advances only across the selected pages that receive a number.
Check margins before sharing
Numbers are placed inside the visible page area, including on rotated pages. Preview the prepared PDF and check that numbering does not overlap existing footers or text. Change the position and prepare again if your document has content close to the edge.
Browser processing and download limits
This tool processes a PDF in your browser, with a 20 MB input limit and a maximum of 500 pages. Split PDF creates at most 100 output files. The processing runs in a background worker so the page can remain responsive, and it preserves PDF page content without rendering every page into an image.
If your document is protected, the tool asks for its current password before editing. It unlocks the PDF on the server once and reuses the browser copy for further edits for up to one hour. Changing files or reopening the page starts a new session. Results are unprotected; use PDF password afterward if you want to protect them. Click Prepare download, then tap Save result. On iPhone, if the PDF opens in a preview, choose Share and Save to Files. Keep the original and check the new file before sharing.
