Make a document’s status visible
A DRAFT or COPY watermark helps readers distinguish a working version from a final document. Enter a short label and apply it to all pages or selected ranges. The watermark is centered in light gray with partial transparency so the original content remains readable.
Choose a PDF, enter your text and select pages such as 2-6 when the cover should stay clear. Prepare the PDF, then open the optional preview before saving. Short labels are easiest to read; longer text is scaled down to fit the page width. This version supports Latin letters, numbers and punctuation.
What a watermark does and does not do
A text watermark is a visible label. It does not restrict access, prevent copying or remove confidential content. If you need password protection, apply it to the finished PDF with the separate password tool. Do not use a watermark to cover information that must be removed.
Browser processing and download limits
This tool processes a PDF in your browser, with a 20 MB input limit and a maximum of 500 pages. Split PDF creates at most 100 output files. The processing runs in a background worker so the page can remain responsive, and it preserves PDF page content without rendering every page into an image.
If your document is protected, the tool asks for its current password before editing. It unlocks the PDF on the server once and reuses the browser copy for further edits for up to one hour. Changing files or reopening the page starts a new session. Results are unprotected; use PDF password afterward if you want to protect them. Click Prepare download, then tap Save result. On iPhone, if the PDF opens in a preview, choose Share and Save to Files. Keep the original and check the new file before sharing.
