Separate documents that arrived in one PDF
A scanner or export can combine several unrelated documents into one file. Splitting helps separate invoices, meeting packets, handouts and application sections. The free split PDF tool creates a ZIP so you can save the parts with one explicit download.
Choose one file per page for a document of up to 100 pages. For longer files or logical sections, choose custom groups. Enter 1-3;4-6;7,9 to create three PDFs. Semicolons start a new file; commas and ranges choose pages inside that file. Only the pages you specify are exported.
Open and check the ZIP after saving
Extract the ZIP with your device’s file manager to access part-001.pdf, part-002.pdf and the remaining parts. Rename them for their purpose before sharing. Each part retains its selected page content; splitting does not run OCR or rebuild tables.
Browser processing and download limits
This tool processes a PDF in your browser, with a 20 MB input limit and a maximum of 500 pages. Split PDF creates at most 100 output files. The processing runs in a background worker so the page can remain responsive, and it preserves PDF page content without rendering every page into an image.
If your document is protected, the tool asks for its current password before editing. It unlocks the PDF on the server once and reuses the browser copy for further edits for up to one hour. Changing files or reopening the page starts a new session. Results are unprotected; use PDF password afterward if you want to protect them. Click Prepare download, then tap Save result. On iPhone, if the PDF opens in a preview, choose Share and Save to Files. Keep the original and check the new file before sharing.
